Every year, Halloween seems to sneak up on me, and I’m scrambling at the last minute to throw something together! These 5 makeup looks are perfect for that last-minute costume party. They are super simple to do, but create maximum impact. I created each one with makeup I already had at home, much of which is from the dollar store! Add some small accessories for the finishing touch to make you 100% costume party ready.
EYES
- Use a purple eyeshadow in your crease, a pink tone on your lid, and a shimmery silver or white in the inner corner.
- Glide a white eyeliner pencil liner across your water line.
- Apply black liquid liner to your upper lash line with a gorgeously long wing.
- Add a glamorous pair of lashes!
- Cut small pieces off the edges of another pair of lashes and apply them upside down in the outer corners of your bottom lash line.
- Define your brows with a pencil, powder or pomade.
FACE
- Start with a base of primer and foundation, correcting and concealing as needed.
- Generously apply purple and pink eyeshadow or blush to create a strong contour around your hairline and below your cheekbones with a makeup sponge.
- Use your favourite highlighter or silvery eyeshadow to brighten your forehead, the bridge of your nose, your cheekbones, your cupid’s bow, and the inner corners of your eyes.
- Use eyeshadow or blush with deep purple and pink tones and a makeup sponge to create shadows along the hairline and under the cheekbones. Then use your favourite highlighter or silvery eyeshadow to brighten your forehead, the bridge of your nose, your cheekbones, and the inner corners of your eyes.
- Add sparkles! I used a glitter primer and applied white iridescent glitter on all of the highlighted areas.
- Apply a soft pink or purple lipstick.
- Finish with setting spray to keep this look in place all day & night!
FINISHING TOUCHES
- Style your hair with a soft curl, and mist with a veil of glitter hairspray (obviously)
- Add a cute unicorn headband, store-bought or DIY (I got this one at Dollarama)
- I wore a simple black tank top with a rose gold sequinned skirt
- If you choose to wear something sleeveless or with a low neckline, add some highlighter to your shoulders and collar bones!
EYES
- Apply a blue or green eyeshadow to your entire lid.
- Add shimmery white eyeshadow or highlighter to your brow bone and inner corner.
- Apply winged black liquid eyeliner to your upper lash line.
- Add a turquoise liquid liner to your lower lash line that follows through to meet and extend the black wing above it.
- Apply a mascara (I used black, but a coloured one would be super fun!)
- Define your brows with your favourite pencil, powder, or pomade.
FACE
- Start with a base of primer and foundation, correcting and concealing as needed.
- Stretch a fishnet stocking across your skin (I used bobby pins to secure it to my hair on each side).
- Use a makeup sponge to apply blue, green, and purple eyeshadow to your forehead and cheeks. Be generous with the pigment so the scales have a strong shape,
- Carefully remove the stocking without smudging your beautiful lines!
- Add a shimmery highlighter to your cheekbones and the bridge of your nose.
- Apply rhinestone stickers at your temples (mine are from the craft section at Dollarama).
- Add a cool-toned lip colour (mine is a mix of blue and purple lipsticks)
- Finish with setting spray to keep this look in place all day & night!
FINISHING TOUCHES
- Accessorize with pearl or starfish jewelry.
- I wore a simple black tank top with scale patterned shiny blue leggings I found with the Halloween Costumes at Shopper’s Drug Mart.
EYES
- Apply a deep pink eyeshadow in your crease, a softer pink on your lid, and white in the inner corner.
- Glide a white eyeliner pencil liner across your water line.
- Use a black liquid eyeliner on your upper lash line from the very inner corner all the way to the edge. Create a long wing.
- Apply black liquid eyeliner from the middle to the outer edge of your lower lash line, and draw long eyelashes from the outer corners.
- Add a pair of false lashes.
- Define your brows with your favourite pencil, powder, or pomade.
FACE
- Start with a base of primer and foundation, correcting and concealing as needed.
- Use a sponge to apply white shadow all over your cheeks, chin, and lips.
- Swipe a white eyeliner pencil in upward strokes around the edges of the white area, and above your eyebrows to look like fur.
- Fill in your upper lip and nose with pink liquid lipstick.
- Draw whisker dots and a thin line through your cupid’s bow with black liquid eyeliner.
FINISHING TOUCHES
- Add a bunny ear headband.
- Pin your hair in a messy bun between the ears (this looks cute, and helps to keep them from falling down!).
- I wore a fuzzy white hooded onesie.
EYES
- Apply an eyeshadow with an orange or brown tone all over eyelid, right up to the brow, and under the eyes to create a large circle.
- Apply winged black liquid liner on top and draw short, spaced out lashes on the bottom.
- Add a pair of false lashes.
- Define brows with your favourite pencil, powder, or pomade.
FACE
- Start with a base of primer and foundation, correcting and concealing as needed.
- Apply pink blush in a small circle in the middle of your cheeks.
- Use a sponge or makeup brush to create a teardrop shape on your nose, and a triangle shape on your forehead, with two different brightly coloured eyeshadows.
- Use black liquid eyeliner to outline these shapes, and draw spaced out stitches around the edge to look like patchwork.
- Apply a bold lipstick and create more stitch lines along either side of your mouth.
FINISHING TOUCHES
- Style your hair in pigtails.
- I wore all black with a plaid shirt.
- A straw hat and overalls would be super cute, too!

FACE
- Start with a base of primer and foundation, correcting and concealing as needed.
- Use a makeup sponge to apply a dark brown eyeshadow around your hairline, under your cheek bones, along your jawline, and contouring both sides of your nose.
- Use black eyeliner to fill in the underside of your nose and your upper lip, and connect with a line down your cupid’s bow.
- Apply a soft pink liquid lipstick to your bottom lip.
- Use a white eyeliner pencil to draw small circles along your forehead and your cheek bones.
- Apply white eyeshadow over the circles to set them in place.
FINISHING TOUCHES
